What airport do I fly into?
You will fly into Puerto Vallarta International Airport, airport code PVR.
How do we get from the airport to Haramara Retreat?
We will arrange for a shuttle based on flight arrival times and group guests together for rides to Haramara. There will be drivers with signs labeled Haramara Retreat awaiting you upon your flight arrival to take your bags and bring you to your shuttle.
We will arrange this transportation through Haramara Retreat, and guests will be responsible for paying for their airport transfers independently. They typically range about $30-35 USD each way, so budget about $70 for the shuttle to and from the airport.
What is a typical day like?
Each day will begin with a morning meditation and flow yoga practice. Following our morning practice we will have breakfast, then free time for activities and excursions such as surfing, napping in a hammock, hiking, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing, snorkeling, whale watching, hanging by the pool, visiting the town Sayulita, spa treatments and massage, etc.
Lunch is provided everyday at Haramara, and is a three course refreshing and light meal. It’s a great time to check in with new friends and soak up some nourishment before heading back out to play.
We will offer a late afternoon flow yoga practice before dinner each day. Some days this practice might be more restorative, especially if many of our guests have been busy on adventures enjoying everything the local environment has to offer.
Dinner is a three course meal every night as well. Following dinner there’s plenty of free time to go for a dip in the hot tub or pool, tuck in early with a book, hang out in the main clubhouse area and chat, or maybe head into town for live music and dancing.
Will I have free time?
YES! Everyday you will have plenty of time to explore any of the activities you are interested in.
What is the climate in Sayulita, Mexico during the time of year of the retreat?
In the beginning of April, Sayulita tends to be in the high 80s Fahrenheit during the day and in the mid to high 60s in the evening. Most of the time you will be comfortable in shorts and a t shirt or tank top.
What kind of cuisine is served?
All the cuisine at Haramara is fresh and of the highest quality and purity available. They support local and organic farms as much as they possibly can. The cuisine features primarily vegetarian dishes with some fresh seafood as well.
The kitchen is happy to customize the meals for you depending on your dietary needs, whatever it may be – gluten free, soy free, dairy free, nut free, vegan, etc. Haramara Retreat is willing to do whatever they can to meet your dietary requests.
Do I need to know how to surf?
No, not at all. Sayulita and the surrounding area offers many great surf breaks for all levels, especially for beginners. This is a great opportunity to try surfing for the first time in warm water without the need for a full wetsuit. And if surfing is not your thing, don;t worry, there is plenty of things to do besides surf at Haramara and in the town Sayulita.
How much yoga will we be doing?
We will practice twice a day. The length of the practices might vary from day to day but will all be about 75 minutes, some longer, some shorter.
